Fáilte an Phríomhoide / Principal's Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to St. Clare’s Primary School website.

Apart from allowing you to access useful information, I hope that your visit enables you to capture the essence of our warm, supportive and vibrant school community.

The school was founded in 1802 by the Sisters of St. Clare. As a Catholic school, we are committed to the promotion of diversity and inclusivity within our school community.

St. Clare’s Primary School is a thriving, welcoming community where all students are nurtured, encouraged and supported to achieve the highest standards and to be the best that they can be.

Each and every student is important to us. We value and understand their unique personalities, interests and contributions, and thus work extremely hard to meet their emotional, personal and social needs. We encourage our students to be kind to one another and to be concerned about the world in which they live. Our students are happy, and our priority is that they enjoy being at school each day.

We have a bespoke, broad curriculum where a wide range of teaching styles and learning resources are used to ensure that every student is given the opportunity to achieve their potential. Our well-qualified, innovative and enthusiastic staff strive to encourage a love of learning in our students.

We realise that education is about far more than academic achievement alone and so we aim to develop every aspect of our students, tapping into their interests and enabling their talents to blossom. St. Clare’s achieve so much outside the classroom; we have a strong reputation on the sporting circuit as well as in music and science and we run an excellent extra-curricular/after school programme.

By providing a wide range of extra-curricular activities for personal and physical development, including an extensive range of sporting, musical and creative activities, we aim to provide something of interest to every student. It is this development of the whole person that inspires and energises us as a school community.

Good communication is essential in providing the best learning experience for our students. Hence, we have regular opportunities for you, as parents, to meet with staff at the school (both informally and formally) to discuss your child’s progress and ways in which we can help them to move forward.

I do hope that this website gives you a flavour of St. Clare’s, but I would really recommend visiting us to see the school in action for yourself. We will give you a full tour and I would be delighted to meet with you as part of your visit.
